CRANBERRY BREAD
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup orange juice
1 tsp grated orange rind
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 to 2 cups chopped
cranberries 
 
Sift dry ingredients,
cut in shortening until
it takes on the appear-
ance of course corn meal)
Mix together orange juice,
rind and beaten egg. Pour
at once in dry ingredients.
Mix just to dampen.
Carefully fold in chopped 
nuts and cranberries.
Pour into a 9"x 5"x 3" loaf
pan and bake at 350 deg.
for approximately 1 hour.
