LASAGNE
1/2 lb.lasagne noodles
2 Tblsp oil
2 minced garlic cloves
1 med. onion, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
2 1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp basil
2 cans tomato paste,
  (6 oz.can)
1 1/2 cup hot water
2 eggs, beaten
1 pt cottage cheese
 (or 1/2 lb.riccotta)
1/2 lb mozzarella or
  Swiss , sliced
1/4 cup parmesan 
 
Cook noodles 15 min. in
salted water.  Drain.  
Heat oil in skillet,
cook garlic and onion til
soft. Add beef and season-
ings, cook until crumbly.
Add tomato paste and hot
water, simmer 5 min. Blend
beaten eggs and cottage cheese
in small bowl.  In 9"x 13"X 2"
baking dish put thin layer meat
sauce, half the noodles, all
the cottage cheese-egg mixture
and half mozzarella cheese.
Repeat with half remaining meat
sauce, rest of noodles, rest of
meat sauce and rest of mozzar-
ella.  Sprinkle with parmesan.
Bake in 350 deg.oven 30 min.
Cool 10 min. Makes 8 servings.
